Pros

Very immersive, has potential to be a rewarding stable career…

Cons

…but there are too many gaps in the funnel & the communication between the companies we partner with to the systems being used. The daily data is one business day behind- causing missed deadlines due to tech issues yet management will still use that data, making it inaccurate in real time, The training is a very mediocre Salesforce program. AI has become the go to this season, Leadership isn’t what it used to be.

Pros

If you get in the right office you can have amazing coworkers and can learn so much. You can gain a ton of experience and knowledge if you are willing to work and collaborate with other preparers. Training is robust and is there for you to utilize and work your way up to higher salary. The potential to earn a full years salary working for half the year once trained up to a higher level and build your book of business.

Cons

Communication is often not the best and in the offseason you are off boarded or get reduced salary and only work a day or two a week

Pros

Flexible work schedule, and if anything comes up, they will make sure someone covers shift.

Cons

Training is almost nonexistent and if you don't know much about taxes.... oh well.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you appreciated the flexible schedule and team support. We also hear your concerns about training and its importance, especially when you’re newer to taxes. Your feedback is valuable to us, and we’re committed to improving. We’ll be sure to share this with the leadership team.

Pros

Fairly flexible working hours - though be prepared for slow times in January - February

Cons

If you apply through HR Blocks' taxprep classes (which you pay for) you will be offered a lower rate of pay. I encountered another employee who tested in that was paid ~14.25/hr During training hours before you come into the office, you'll be paid less. While attending the online 'orientation' type classes i was paid 11/hr
