Pros
Training is straight-forward, they don't waste a lot of time going over things repeatedly which sometimes happens in a class setting of 35 plus people. Most everything needed is online. So when it comes up later at the office, you can look it up for yourself. A message board where employees can ask and answer questions in real time was great especially during the first few weeks of the season.
Cons
Since making the most money possible for the management is priority, scheduling and commitments are not reliable. If they can save some money they will do it, and it that means you thought you would work 30 hours one week and they only give you 12, that is too bad for you. This is of course the way business works. However, thinking that people were telling me the truth about schedule and being all about the customer and supporting the employees, then each week the reality hits and your schedule/pay is half or less than what you needed is still hard, no matter what the reason. Good company? Maybe in some offices, maybe in some years, but after doing this for the past 4 years and seeing things get steadily more in favor of management I can't go back. Offering deals to get new customers but reducing any discounts we can give returning customers to almost nothing is ridiculous if they really want to grow the business. I had to repeat myself over and over to returning clients, trying to excuse the fact that we had raised prices and offered no discounts to people who were loyal customers is really hard. And there is no reason for it, I mean we still have the old computers and other equipment, our phone system is at least a decade old, it isnt like the company invests in the latest tech and the client should appreciate that with the higher fees. They say clients matter but when they lay off CSPs so I have to answer the phone half the time, even during the last few weeks, that is not caring about anyone but $$$$. Saving money by using less staff does not make a better experience for anyone except whoever is getting credit for the final income numbers. Sad.
