Pros
I have to quickly say that before I got my new Job at WOW 1 Day Painting I had made a short career for myself in the cut throat competitive world of Professional race car driving racing for teams like the Aston Martin North American Factory Supported team. It was a serious Job but because of it I had developed some beliefs about the world that have recently been shattered at my new job. Your number one goal before anything else in the world of pro car racing is to out perform your team mate. Work with them at times yes, but ultimately you need to out perform them so your spot on the team is safe. Its a world where there are way more qualified workers then there are paying jobs and that creates the "cut throat competitive environment" that I mentioned before. Beat your own team mate at all costs. Don't trust anyone as far as you could throw them, do what ever you have to do for yourself to get ahead, and win at all costs! Now dont get me wrong, I loved racing cars and I loved a lot of the people I met in the racing world but its safe to say that it bread me into being a pretty jaded person in a lot of ways. But the time to move on came and I was looking for a new job preferably in sales of some sort. A friend of mine came to me and didn't offer me an amazing job opportunity he just told me straight up that I had to get a job for one of Brian Scudemore's O2E four franchise brands! So that's when I applied for the then being offered position as a inbound sales agent for WOW 1 Day Painting. I was scheduled for an interview and the long and the short of this part of the story is the interview went awesome and I got the job. One thing the racing world taught me to do well was sell my strengths and hide my weakness's which is awesome for interviews! Anyway I was scheduled to start work the following Monday and that's when the real experience started. I came into work and was greeted by everybody with open arms as if I was just adopted into a new loving family. But this was so foreign to me and against my previous experiences I automatically thought that these people had some sort of angle and they weren't to be trusted. Then I was introduced to my team. My team mates. To me this meant I was being introduced to my immediate competition. These are the people that I need to eventually outperform and beat in order to maintain my desk at the new job. (This is what I was bread to believe from the racing world) But no matter what my beliefs at the time were I was going to give these people a shot and trust them at arms length and learn how my new job worked. (Beneath my rigid racecar driver persona I am naturally a very warm hearted kind person so I was willing to give these new people the benefit of doubt.) My new team mates were relentless in their support. Theyre level of kindness was extraordinary, all they wanted to do was help me and get me up to speed so I could be a productive member of the team and work together to achieve our greater collective goals to benefit the company as a whole. My new team mates were quite simply some of the nicest people I had ever met and no matter what, they weren't going to let me fall behind they were going to keep helping me with what ever I needed, to learn how everything worked and to get comfortable working with the team. After a couple of days of this I started to realise that everyone in the office space was just like the people on my team. All of them were just genuinely happy and kind and they all seemed to genuinely love being at work. And this is a big office with a lot of different people working from the call centre to upper management all different levels of work and everyone was getting along great! Everyone was friendly to each other and treated each other with basic levels of respect. After observing this for a couple of more days I let my defences down and allowed my self to trust in these new people because I finally realised that they didn't have some sort of angel or ulterior motives. Everyone legitimately wanted to help each other out where ever they could, be kind and friendly and enjoy what they do. Legitimately enjoy their jobs and be happy to go to work in the morning. The light went on in my head and I remembered that my mother taught me proper manners when I was young and now it was time to use them! And that everything I hated about the racing world was completely non existent in this place. So I quickly changed my attitude, I realised that this is an amazing place with amazing people and to add a major bonus the business's are all super successful and growing at an outrageous pace. I honestly didn't think that a place like this existed because all of my previous work and honestly most of my life experiences were so different. luckily for me I didn't have to dig deep into my self to quickly jump on bored and fit right in with this amazing work environment. I wanted to be a team player and I want to work together with my team mates to achieve the collective goal of helping our company grow and grow with the reputation that we have the best customer service in our particular industry because we treat our customers the way we treat each other. Our core values PIPE "Passion, Integrity, Professionalism, and Empathy" and it works. Since I've started working at WOW I am legitimately a happier healthier person then I was before and I see no end to the amount of growth that can be made. This is somewhere where I can build a respectable career where I can be successful and love what I do. Even though my job right now is on the front lines answering the phones having the odd person on the other end be rude to me for no reason at all, now I brush it off I don't react and I move onto the next one, where as before I would have let that person ruin my whole day. My team leaders (my boss's if you can even call them that the word Boss just doesn't suit them) they're supportive and people I actually look up to and appreciate instead of the typical "brutal boss" breathing down your neck making your life hell. I want to work my hardest and produce results for these people because they lead in a way that makes me motivated to do my best, and when I do my best and I get results they're the first ones to tell me that I'm doing an awesome job. They appreciate my hard work and they validate me for it. Which is something that may seem small but at the end of a hard days work having your boss say to you "Hey you did awesome today and I want you to know how much we truly appreciate you being on the team" that goes a looong way for someone like me that at previous jobs could never do good enough no matter how hard I worked no matter if I won my race by a second or a mile I always could have done it better then I did. It doesn't stop there. When you're working under the O2E umbrella for one of the four franchises you're not just expected to excel at your desk and do a good job they expect you to excel as a person and become the best you that you can be. They teach you how to set goals for yourself and how to make the necessary plans to achieve those goals. It makes me think of a time when I was a kid my parents bought me a guitar but wouldn't pay for me to take guitar lessons which resulted in nothing, then I was bad because I didn't play with my guitar that I was spoiled to have gotten in the first place. automatic failure with out ever been given a chance to succeed. That's never the case here, you get the guitar and all the lessons you need included so you can become a rock-star! I'm so happy to have finally landed myself in a place like this. where I can be myself, I have friendly supportive co-workers/team mates, I'm appreciated/ cared about and the sky is the limit with how far I can succeed/grow. Take it from the greatest jaded sceptic there was, I said it right in the beginning this is too good to be true but for the first time in a long time for me its actually all true. Brian Scudemore and his team have created a company with its own lifestyle where every ordinary thing has become an exceptional detail. A place where even an ordinary feeling person can learn to be exceptional because according to him "its all about the people" and he has absolutely nailed it. The people that work here love it and it rubbs off on the clients. Everyone feels appreciated which I think is something that at the end of the day every person wants to feel. If you're looking for a place where you can have infinite room to grow as an employee and a person then this is the place for you. If all of your previous work experience was like mine and it was negative and you just came to accept that working was going to suck for the rest of your life even if you were a race car driver then this is the place for you. because believe me there is light at the end of the tunnel and working does not need to suck! Come join the team! You will find your self working hard with out even putting any effort into it. you're just working hard because you're enjoying it and you feel like you're becoming better in every way every day. Working here has changed my view on life and on people in general. Today I wake up with a purpose and a positive attitude actually excited to see what my day at work has in store for me. Everyone is welcome to give it a shot so take the leap and jump on bored. And hey I never even mentioned that they pay you to be here too! on top of changing my view of the world for the better I'm getting paid. Bonus! Then there's one of the best benefit packages that any employer in the country has to offer on top of it all!

What can I say, about this. I honestly cant think of any cons other then some times you have to deal with the random unpleasant person on the other end of the phone. Its hard not to take it personal at first because all your trying to do is be friendly and help them and they're just rude and mean for no reason at all. But you eventually learn to brush these calls off and move on. That's the only con I can come up with and it just helps prove how outrageously positive and forward thinking all of the people are that work here.
