Pros

Many years ago it was a really fun, inspiring place to work .... not so much now.

Cons

They hire mgmt. from the outside so there is no chance for advancement. The company is no longer employee owned as they have cut most of the onshore employees. You will spend most of your time in a cut throat environment wondering when your going to get cut. The mgmt. is overpaid and out of touch. A lot of high energy big talking alpha male mgmt. can be expected. Much of what used to be done onshore is now done offshore. The tech is dated so don't expect to be working with cutting edge marketable tech. The middle mgmt. has been in the same spot for years so don't expect inspired motivated managers. The morale is low as many employees have watched friends be cut who have worked for the company for years. The company was a really fun place to work but the change in tone and mgmt. have led to a very dark and gloomy soulless place to work.

Thank you for your honest feedback and for your years of dedicated hard work. The company is 100% employee owned and the vast majority of our employees work in the U.S. Technology groups have ebbs and flows in size with a mix of on-shore employee owners and off shore consultative support to manage costs. We strive to develop management potential and recently promoted nearly eighty employees in the last year; and criteria for the promotion process is posted internally. If you would like to discuss further, please contact talent@ep.com.

Pros

Work with generally good people.

Cons

CISO is abusive to subordinates, and quick to threaten termination even for normal things. I would not work with him again, in any context. Any negative review should be considered in context, but potential candidates to InfoSec should be warned: check to see how many Sr. InfoSec Engineers have left the company, and how long the average engineer chooses to stay on the this team.

Pros

good hearted people (for the most part). Can learn to navigate organization politics.

Cons

Lack of skills, growth opportunities, Egoistic executive and sr.management. Death by meetings and decisions through consensus. Tough for middle managers to make decisions and get the sr management and executives to make decisions. different standards across the organization and favoritism for teams with managers who exhibit power. EP3.0 is just an effort to shift people around but same people...same drama... accountability is only at the middle management / Individual contributors level... Executives, VPs get a free pass. Just had layoffs in the software group and they are hiring more directors and VPs wtf
