Pros

great pay, good facilities, gym access, great coworkers

Cons

This is for the corporation of equinox as a whole, not specifically at the gym level. If you have a medical crisis, lets say you get diagnosed with cancer. If you are a pert time employee even if you have been at the company for years you will get no pay, no paid leave, no sick pay or leave you will be left out on the curb. Furthermore, the outside company Alight formerly Reed group, that equinox forces you to use to make a claim for leave of absence is horrific. They are archaic and not helpful navigating the extremely complicated system of asking for an UNPAID leave while you get CHEMOTHERAPY just for as they say "job security" aka so they don't give your job away while you fight cancer. So be prepared to never get sick or have anything come up medically if you work for this company because its a nightmare.

Pros

Flexible hours Was good before summer 2022

Cons

i worked at Equinox in Scarsdale for over a year as a FD associate. When I started, Equinox was a great minimum wage job to work at. The last few months, everything changed. New management came in that was disrespectful and abrasive. Clear favoritism was shown by them. For example, a coworker and I quit at the same time. On my last day, no one said bye to me. On my coworker’s last day they brought her a cake wishing the best of luck. Another example, a coworker who has been there for less then a year got promoted, despite the fact she takes months off at a time and smokes w**d in the building. I worked 35 hours a week in the summer, covered shifts all the time in positions that weren’t in my job description. The original managers were always grateful and appreciative making the job worth it. New management is utterly rude to minimum wage employees and members. Further, the new membership advisors create an incredibly uncomfortable environment for females, with their blunt s*xual innuendos and comments. The management and membership advisors created a truly disgusting environment, three employees (myself included) who were there for over a year quit.
