Job was horrible, experience was valuable
Pros
Other jobs will look at your experience and think it is valuable so that when you leave this disaster you may be able to work somewhere that actually respects their employees. This place is good for a new college graduate looking to get experience and can't get hired anywhere else.
Cons
Management in the infectious disease department doesn't even know what their staff does. The massive sample volume coupled with unrealistic turnaround times and forever breaking equipment makes for high employee turnover and constant staffing issues. This in turn makes for a low moral and shift to shift conflicts. I never got lunches or breaks and had to stay late almost everyday just to try and get everything done. Once you have been there over 6 months you are basically considered a senior tech and must pick up slack since there is no one more experienced there then you. Finally the raises are pathetic for how hard some employees work. Don't expect larger than a $0.30 raise even if you deserve it. There is also no growth potential here so just get experience and get out.
