Feeble Minded Management

Pros

After many years with this company, there are only a few pros that I can think of. Flexibility, competitive health insurance rates and the camaraderie between co-workers. The flexibility is the only thing keeping many of the good analysts there. I gave a second star for the amazing co-workers with whom I work with; otherwise I would have kept it at one star.

Cons

Well below national standards salary wise. Maybe it's competitive for the environmental industry, but knowing you can make the same at Costco with a college degree is disheartening. In house upper management is not only unsupported by their superiors, but are clueless as to how to run a functioning lab. They are pushing away experienced people in lieu of cheaper college grads with zero experience. They also have unrealistic expectations; over promising and under performing at every step of the way. Staffing is always an issue, yet management expects you to "do what it takes" to get the job done, mostly by working loads of overtime. Future employees need to learn to set their own boundaries quick if they want to work here. Also, the option to "move up" within the company hardly ever transpires without games played by management to get you to try to stay where you are.

Pros

Coworkers and working from home.

Cons

Horrendous pay, piling endless amounts of work on you (even if it's a group leaders job who makes a salary pay) and telling you that "it's fine," or telling you that "it's easy." Management not helping employees-they just push them out/move them around. Basically, no one gets helped here or fired here, everyone is miserable and quits (usually goes to work for the clients). My coworkers make this worth it and vice versa.

Pros

-Well sometimes it is hard to find them honestly .. I would say okay amount of vacation time, but fairly standard for most full time positions like this. -Get to learn/develop chemistry skills/knowledge

Cons

This place is cheap period: Same starting pay for someone with a college degree as someone out of high school? Look, we make this company millions in revenue every year, and some departments actually require technical skills and knowledge. You would be hard pressed to find a company or industry that gives worse compensation for work being done. Mandatory overtime. I am basically on call. Which is fine, if I were making good money. Which I am not. Workload is disproportionately shouldered by a few hard workers.. Turnover is ridiculous because no one wants to work like a robot for this company while not being compensated well. Especially when many have student loans. I am basically at poverty level working here with college degree. Also, the fact that Eurofins only invests money in infrastructure when things start to fall apart, literally. AC unit is constantly breaking down.. Leaks from various parts in ceiling, exhaust smoke back flowing into "clean" intake air, that we then get to breath in. Yippee. These are not exaggerations, and not lies. This is truly my experience working here. Only reason I stayed here was to gain experience and maybe fall into an easy salary job which I frequently saw happen to people who did the least to begin with. Well that didn't happen and upper mobility, at my location at least, is zero to none. Unless you want to do even more work to begin with to just be gaining back what you lost from inflation in a year.
