Salary Reviews are always on time Good Benefits other than items noted under cons New management is getting involved so maybe things will change for the better

Cons

No opportunity for advancement . You will stay at the same level at which you were hired unless you play the political game. There are many people within the organization that have been with the company for over 5 years with absolutely no chance for advancement. Limited flex time for most people. Little or no work at home opportunity. No internal job postings. All hires seem to be from outside the company even though there are many capable individuals working for the company already. Separate vacation and sick days in lieu of PTO No opportunity to buy additional vacation weeks

Thank you for your comments. Currently there are no advanced postings for internal candidates; however, all open positions are posted on the Everest Career site. Employees have access to this website and are encouraged to apply for positions through the online portal and indicate that they are current employees, for close consideration. Everest has also implemented a formal work from home policy & a new Flex Time policy, which allow employees to take time off during their normally scheduled core hours by making up the time on an alternate day(s) during the same week. Both policies are intended to help promote work/life balance.

Relatively friendly and flexible environment.

Cons

Low pay - mostly due to lots of outsourcing - so forget about you career dreams in this company. Not so good benefits, management has no idea about what needs to be done and how to do it, but is trying to manage it. Trying so hard that sometimes you have no idea how to complete all those contradictive tasks with mutually exclusive requirements.

Pros

Any job is what you make of it. I was exposed to a lot of the different sides of reinsurance, i.e Ceded, Assumed, Retro. Very knowledgeable people.

Cons

Salary could be better. Since moving on , I've been to other companies in the Reinsurance industry that offer more flexibility like working from home and bonus structures. When I was there only managers we re entitled to bonuses. I also agree with another review that says that calling out sick is frowned upon.
