Pros

*Fully remote work. *Several good co-workers here and there *Straightforward work and expectations, making it easy not to take work home.

Cons

*Pay was not adequate for the amount of abuse received from customers, particularly evident during market downturns.. *Management consistently increased responsibilities and workload without corresponding pay raises. *Misleading promises of professional growth; promotions often go to inexperienced individuals. *The company's slow response to ongoing issues hindered the timely adoption of new ideas. *Frequent layoffs, especially in the past year, reflected an overhiring pattern followed by cutting veteran employees to reduce payroll expenses. Constant restructuring led to significant pay cuts or terminations. *Management often showed indifference to escalated issues, prioritizing avoidance of direct involvement. *Employees who raised concerns about colleagues not meeting established standards were sometimes terminated with alternative justifications. *Varied levels of leniency in employee treatment were observed, often due to team staffing challenges.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your time at Evolve. We appreciate your dedication over the years you spent with us and for taking the time to provide feedback. We are actively working to improve our communication with teammates and are excited for the efforts coming out of our most recent Engagement Survey around strengthening trust, confidence, and growth. We’re also pleased to share that new growth opportunities (via initiatives like upskill development sessions & lateral/promotional movement), alignment around role accountability and expectations, and leading by example are all critical elements of our new Account Management organization, which our Performance Team is now part of. All feedback is important and this is an element of our culture we will continue to focus on. Thank you again for your feedback.

Layoffs & Lies

Pros

-Remote Work -Good Health Care benefits -My direct manager was great

Cons

-Layoffs (4) in 4 years--> I completely understand the ramifications of covid on this industry and having to resort to a layoff but it was the same story 4 times over. They told the entire company they were financially healthy 'the balance sheet is strong' and layoffs were announced shortly thereafter. This is followed by a period of over-hiring, incredibly poor forecasting, and then you guessed it more layoffs=rinse and repeat. Again, I can understand missing a forecast for revenue, prop growth, etc but they were nowhere in the ballpark for years and these missed targets resulted in unrealistic expectations for the sales team. The layoffs also disproportionately got rid of very tenured people on many teams. That could be due to higher salaries, better benefits for those individuals but it also seems like they don't want to retain anyone who remembers how Evolve was when they actually had vision and a culture and cared for employees. -Toxic Sales culture--> Terrible culture in the sales org with a lot of turnover and as previously mentioned almost impossible to hit goals for all but the top 10% of reps who are given the best leads. The ROE (rules of engagement) are a joke and followed by nobody. It's a wild west mentality where people will lie, steal, change information and do anything to swipe leads and accounts. The best part is you can catch them red handed provide evidence, and there are zero consequences for those responsible parties. The commission switch to a % to goal payout was also just another way for the company to save money and short hard working reps. They change commission and then set goals you would need to work 30 days a month to have a chance to hit. -High Turnover and no accountability--> High turnover on a lot of teams all the way to the top. In the last year, the CFO, Head of the People Team, IT Director, Director of the entire CS Org have all left on their own accord. During the many layoffs there was almost no accountability from the C Suite and they all kept their jobs. The CEO has lost all respect and belief from the majority of employees. He refuses to step down and let someone with the proper experience and leadership turn things around and sadly is letting his ego run the company off a cliff. It's not a knock on him, he had several good years but the company grew so fast and he is no longer equipped to lead a company of this size.

Thank you for your review. We understand layoffs can be a difficult time for all teammates and appreciate you sharing your experience. To clarify, we’ve experienced three layoffs total over the past decade. While incrredibly difficult, these decisions are part of what has allowed us to remain financially strong as a business. We’re on track to become profitable by the end of this year, which allows us to give our teammates the opportunities that come with being part of a high performing company. We wish you the best moving forward.

A Masterclass in Gaslighting, Burnout, and Failed Leadership

Pros

Some genuinely kind and talented peers who are doing their best despite impossible workloads. You’ll learn how much you can tolerate before breaking, which is… something.

Cons

Evolve is a case study in how to disguise exploitation as “high performance.” Management preaches culture and transparency while quietly forcing out anyone who dares to ask for fair pay or realistic expectations. Most teams are doing the work of three people for salaries that don’t even come close to market rate. Leadership’s “direction” changes weekly, often contradicting itself, and feedback is mostly treated as defiance. Promises of growth and opportunity are empty talking points; the reality is micromanagement, shifting goals, and a constant undercurrent of fear. The “high performance culture” simply means: do more work for less money or prepare to be pushed out. It’s degrading, demoralizing, and unsustainable.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you found connection with your teammates—that’s something we continue to prioritize across Evolve. We want to be clear: Evolve is intentionally built as a high-performance, customer-obsessed organization. That means we set ambitious goals, operate with urgency, and hold ourselves—and each other—accountable to outcomes. We know that environment isn’t for everyone, and we respect that. We also recognize that performance environments must be matched with clarity, consistency, and support. That’s why we’ve taken meaningful steps to improve how we communicate expectations, develop managers, and support growth and development across our teams—while continuing to uphold the standards that drive results for our customers and opportunities for our people. We appreciate your perspective and the time you spent at Evolve.
