Pros

A lot of opportunity for growth, flexibility, fair compensation, solid company growth and reinvestment

Cons

New in-person office requirements reduce flexibility, and it's a large company, so you can get a little lost and overlooked

Pros

Pay is good. Immediate leadership and coworkers are amazing. The benefits overall are pretty nice.

Cons

The biggest con is the feeling that the company as a whole does not truly listen to or value their employees. They have instituted a “Future of Work” model which entails employees being forced to come into the office 3 days a week even if you were hired as remote or have always been remote. The idea is “collaboration” however teams are scattered across the US and even world. For example on my team there is no one within an 8 hour radius of me so all my meeting with my team are still virtual. Why do I need to be in an office?

Avoid at all costs

Pros

Good compensation and benefits package

Cons

The Express Scripts/Evernorth environment was one that I would avoid at all costs. The departments have an adversarial mindset and will go out of their way to not cooperate with each other. The worst part I noticed was stability. The majority of the team was there for a year or less. Both managers were just hired in 2023 and one of them moved on before busy season. 6-7 Managers in 18-20 months for a two manager department. The Directors put a lot on certain team members while leaving training wheels on more senior members for some reason. Directors and Managers have a tenuous grasp of the process and what they are asking employees to deal with. The highest achievers on the team worked 50+ hours to stay on target. For a role, and company, that stresses health and work-life balance, that was not the experience for anyone in the department I worked in and the departments I worked with. The entity is living off of the Cigna Group, and advertises its roles as such. Do not fall for the trap, stay at your current role and keep applying elsewhere. Find the right company, as I don't believe many who work here are happy.
