Pros

Roof over my head. keeps the rain off my keyboard and the wind from whistling through my hair.

Cons

Medco was tolerable. ESI is greedy. 6sigma lean, 6s, HR, a complete dissolution of most benefits, no pay increases in last 7 years. Don't even try to have a life or go to school. They won't allow schedule changes for it. If you are a robot and enjoy a lack of pay increases, working the hours they want you to work, and continually striving to meet constantly increasing rates with no benefit to yourself out of FEAR they'll fire you than this is your dream job. If you like contributing years of quality improvement and leadership with absolutely no recognition for your contributions, sign up! Just don't punch out of work 1 second early on accident before a holiday...they'll take your pay for that holiday like a thief.

They say they care, but they really don't

Pros

The pharmacy benefits management (PBM) industry is a very interesting and dynamic industry. You do learn a lot.

Cons

Senior management's transparency is almost non-existent. They don't care about work-life balance. They are an internally-focused, nickel and dime organization that also pays St. Louis, MO wages across the country, meaning if you live on the West Coast or the East Coast, don't expect to get a salary that matches your area's cost of living for the amount of work they want you to do. The hierarchal culture and politics are ridiculous, and creates a lot of miscommunication and misunderstanding. The integrating between Express Scripts and Medco (my company who they bought out) has been an absolute nightmare. Top talent keeps walking out the door. The layoffs. It's just sad.
