Pros

Endless opportunity, leader development programs, great benefits, heavy focus on doing what’s good for the patient, awesome coworkers

Cons

The uncertainty with the pending merger and the constant history or mergers and acquisitions... I thought we were trying to grow organically for a while, but I guess it’s needed to stay competitive,

Pros

Work at home was great. Pay was decent.

Cons

Just a number. They don't value any of their employees unless they have favorites. Laid off bunch of people to save money but could have repurposed many of us in different internal positions or at least give us the option rather than throwing us out like garbage after hard work and many years in company (some almost ready to retire).

Pros

Express Scripts is a "doer" organization that doesn't waste time when it comes to making changes. Yes, office politics play into this and can slow a process down however, if you have an idea, you are empowered to execute it. There are plenty of opportunities to network internally and grow, even outside of your current role. Whether that's participating in an Employee Resource Group or scheduling a meeting over coffee, everyone understands the importance of growing your network and will take time to contribute. Express Scripts rewards hard work and will attempt to give employees opportunities that they ask for in order to grow professionally. There is a drive to be the best and do the right thing for the patients, the clients and the healthcare industry. Those are two sides of a coin that are hard to balance but Express Scripts does it better than most.

Cons

The company can operate in silos, as expected from an organization so large. However, they understand the need to be more collaborative and cross-functional. They also continue to up their communications game in order to help employees feel a part of change. The culture can still feel very "corporate." There's a desire to be the Googles and Apples of the world, but change is slow to catch up, even if you can wear jeans every day. Meetings. So many meetings. More often than not, employees are carrying the weight of 1.5 or 2 people. There is a need to staff up in order to achieve the aggressive goals that the company sets for itself and to participate in better work/life balance practices.

Thank you for taking the share your feedback. We’re always working to find ways to exceed our employees’ expectations. As far as the silos, know that we are hard at work finding ways to do things better and work more cross-functionally. Thank you for your service to the company!
