Pros

enjoy working with the adults in my site, whether hourly or salaried ...the work life balance is getting better somewhat. the MORALE is finally being paid attention to ..at legacy ESI sites we are are open to changes for the better .. not sure about the other side ...after 10 years almost happy with my pay and quite happy with my time off accrual rate .. great stock plan and 401K .. and even with the thing i have concerns about ... not even remotely ready to leave the company... i want to stick around and see what happens ..we continue to change and evolve and i want to see what the 'finished' product is in say about 2016

Cons

Extreme LACK OF COMMUNICATION So what really happened.is what i would like to know .. we were told we bought Medco.. then the packaging pretty much said we merged with them.. now it feels nothing like that .. but more of a takeover ... thought we as a company were taking the best of both sides... but i don't see that .. just feels like we are becoming Medco... and frankly Medco didn't handle things well enough to continue on their own which is why we paid cash for them right? .. so give legacy West some love and attention and look at some of our best practices rather than go arrogantly through the day and think you don't have to implement some changes or how about basically appreciating that we saved your a$$ets from bankruptcy; oh and only legacy Medco people seem to be being promoted up at this time ... all the new names and faces are not coming from the legacy ESI side .. for example my Sr Director just stopped coming to work .. now we have a new interim one who is legacy MEDCO.. maybe she is going to get to know our ESI side of things but I'm not as hopeful as i used to be about that

Pros

Decent PTO...when you can use it...Pay for college...although you will work so much, you won't have time to go. That's about it

Cons

Everything! Company will say "you're luck you have a job, we can replace you at any time." Mandatory OT started 4 years ago, and we were told it would last 3 months. Not only is it STILL going, it is MORE hours of mandatory OT. Salaried employees are told "you are salaried, we can make you work as much as we want." As a salaried person, you could be asked (told) to work extra days, and if you want to take a day off later, you still have to use PTO, even though you just put in 60 hours or more last week. Basically, the company doesn't care a bit about employees, no such thing as work/life balance. Turnover is ridiculous, due to all issue above, and management states that they "can't figure out why employees are not happy" - their words! And they have the gall to send lower management to classes on retaining employees. But when you tell them the reasons why the turnover rate is so high, you are ignored. Basically, nobody lasts more than about 3 years, either you get fed up and leave, or get fired.

Pros

ever changing reality with the Medco merger going forward.. fast paced work environment.. great opportunities to lead people and make a great impact on their world .. so far many different sites to work at ..

Cons

huge demands on management and little recognition because everyone is looking at what the next hot topic may be.. account management appears to be limited in where you are allowed to work from , and in how much they understand what goes on in the front line employees world ( the people who really talk to their clients) they are losing the expertise and knowledge of frontline employees by overlooking people in their contact centers
