      Pros

      I enjoyed most of the coworkers at the corporate office.

      Cons

      HR's motto is to hire the youngest and healthiest, if you fit into that category you might survive for a while at Extra Space. For the past 2 years they have been firing employees over the age of 40. They harass employees who use the insurance, or they fire them without a cause. I witnessed discrimination against women and age, they won’t hire smokers and humiliate employees who are over weight. There is a low moral because employees are worried about loosing their jobs. They will only let a few employees’ advance or change departments

      Pros

      Work Life Balance. Is the only Pro I have for this. Upper management is horrible and never motivating toward employees and do not set you up for success.

      Cons

      This Company does not pay enough for the number of responsibilities that you are required to handle on a daily basis. You are a Sales Person, Maintenance worker, Real estate agent, Auctioneer, Security Guard, and Insurance broker all rolled into one. Each of these responsibilities or titles can and arguably be considered separate Jobs in itself. Each of these jobs will compensate you way more than you are paid at Extra Space Storage. The growth Potential is insufficient because having any real career outside of a Site Manager is nonexistent. This Job is not the place you want to be if you are truly looking for a financially rewarding career that will pay you adequately for the number of responsibilities that they want you to handle.

      Huge disconnect between field staff and upper management

      Pros

      Good work home life balance, great co workers.

      Cons

      Pay not enough for the amount of work required. Managers that live on site take a Pay cut despite having more responsibility. 72 hours to move if terminated or quit. Upper management very uncaring about employees.
