      Pros

      Can not say enough great things about working at ESS! The job is not difficult to do. It is not very stressful and my coworkers are great fun and very helpful when I need assistance. Matching 401K, health insurance, Paid time off, holiday and BONUSES!

      Cons

      You do need to keep you 'numbers' up. And rates will increase, so you will get unhappy customers calling about that, but the company will let you adjust this over the phone. As an assistant manager I cover 3 different facilities. Covering the store when the manager takes the day off. There will be days where you are working alone, but again when you have a problem, call a coworker.

      Pros

      I appreciate that corporate has vitality and actively asks for input on how to be better. I have not seen too much action based on feedback but, that may come with time. The pay - I feel that the pay is fair, especially for entry level work. Hiring from within - there is ongoing communication that Extra Space wants current employees to aspire to progress and move up the ladder to fill leadership roles. They do not push it on you but they do communicate that they want to see you grow and develop in the company.

      Cons

      PTO accrual is very slow in my opinion and days where you are sick and cannot come to work are required to be PTO. Vacation days shouldn't be required when you feel sick and can't recharge away from work. I believe people need more time to refresh and be with their loved ones or doing enjoyable activities to them. Schedule/hours - Mandatory Saturdays are understandable even if they are not great. However, the hours are difficult and pretty late which makes work/life balance difficult.

      They care about your progress and have weekly discussions to see how we feel we can improve overall performance. They ask for our opinions about earning new customers There is a great bonus pay program

      Cons

      Having your own vehicle is a requirement because you have to travel a decent amount to other store locations
