Pros

- Interesting work if you like fintech - Work life balance is great

Cons

- Company's current strategy -- invest in a web product nobody has asked for, reduce number of development offices, move a large portion of development to India, let money making core products suffer and move into maintenance mode.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad you find your work interesting, but I’m disappointed to hear you characterize our strategy in this way. We’ve invested both in developing Eclipse, our next generation platform, as well as in our Investment Suite. There is an important part of the market that is looking for an integrated cloud solution like our Eclipse platform and we believe over time this segment of the market will grow. That said, we are continuing to invest heavily in our core products, as it is a mission critical application for our clients. In terms of our development centers, we have decided to have fewer but larger development centers in Boston and Hyderabad as we believe it is the most effective way to continue to optimize our R&D function both organizationally and geographically. We are a global company supporting a global client base, and we need global coverage (24x5.5) to service to our clients. In addition, our R&D team members have been able to reap the benefits of collaboration in our development centers – creating innovative solutions between programs and platforms. If you have any additional feedback, or solutions that you’d like to discuss, please feel free to stop by my office or drop me an email.

Pros

-To Eze’s credit they were able to hire people for good cultural fit and that has created an atmosphere where most people get along and become friends inside and outside of work -Some managers are truly good people and care about their subordinates' development -Patagonia swag -Beer Fridays -Free water, coffee, paper towels and toilet paper

Cons

-CEO is using a 20 year old playbook to make decisions in 2016 and although it’s clearly not working it is still being pushed forward with brute force -The company is only focused on numbers and how top brass can reach those numbers and eventually get paid out. ALL else is unimportant -Outsourcing to India makes 0 sense but is currently priority #1 -Lack of transparency in recently introduced salary bands that may or may not be incorrectly calculated at the 75% percentile. Why 75%, is that all employees are worth? This is a question no one will ever answer for you but they will be sure to make you aware that your salary is capped -Recently done away with bonus eligibility for individual contributors :-( and therefore no incentive for top performers -A few at the top control the political landscape of the company which means transparency is next to nothing

Pros

Great coworkers who are both intelligent and fun, reasonable benefits (matching-ish 401k program), good vacation day allotment, good way to learn some basic finance.

Cons

I cannot stress this enough -- it is important for seniors in college or recent graduates to fully understand what is in store for them if they decide to work as an analyst in Eze's QA department. It is an exceedingly easy way to waste two years of your life. The QA departments leads analysts down a road with very few prospects to move on to other opportunities except for the pre-determined paths outlined by management. For someone how has yet to work in the real world this might not seem so bad, but Eze's quicksand (**think no future job opportunities**) becomes rapidly apparent. What can you expect working as an analyst? Don't be fooled by flashy words like "regression testing." You will spend your days brainlessly clicking buttons to make sure they click as expected. Then going to another part of the software and ... clicking more buttons to make sure they work as expected. Then reading some instructions about how to click buttons and what the expected result of the clicking buttons should look like -- followed by more button clicking. This might sound silly but is no exaggeration. Not only does this kind of work make you feel like your brain is unnecessary and slowly dying, it means that you cannot leave Eze to move on to other opportunities. Other employers won't care that you have clicked button's in Eze's software. The only opportunities are to move on to Eze consulting or system support which are merely glorified customer service positions where you advise hedge funds on how to click buttons. The QA department is a trap and it is near impossible to escape. Do yourself a favor and try to find any other place to work that offers stimulating opportunities before accepting an offer at Eze.
