Pros

Management finds areas where you can shine. Flexible work schedule is amazing - come in and head home when you want. Unlimited vacation as long as you get your work completed. Open and honest working environment. Get to work with some of the most talented people you'll ever meet.

Cons

While the health care is great for the individual, if you want to include spouse and children in your health plan, the rates become outrageous.

Pros

This was my first non-contract job as an editor and has been a fantastic experience. The tangible benefits are good (especially our health insurance package--wow!) but I love my job at Faithlife more because of the intangibles. I'm constantly learning and applying new skills. I am encouraged to own my work--and I make things I'm proud of. I feel like my coworkers and management are all dedicated to making top-notch products. Unlike in my previous jobs, I feel like I can actually recommend the company's software and publications to my friends and family.

Cons

It would be nice if they'd make it cheaper to have family covered under the company health benefits. I also sometimes feel like the company core value of Shipping trumps Awesomeness and Elegance, though we do make amazing products.

Pros

The company has a good set of values and the leadership actively works to keep the company aligned with those values. There is a lot of trust given to employees. The honor system is used liberally The vacation policy is to take time off when you want to (with a reasonable amount of forewarning.) It's a fun environment. Employees can regularly be found in the break room playing ping-pong, foosball, video games. There are numerous groups of employees that regularly get together for rock climbing, hiking, biking, studying, etc.and these groups are easy to find and always open to more people.

Cons

While there is a place for them, It can be a difficult environment for introverts. The company rewards initiative and marketing oneself well by showing off good work, and this is not easy for all personality types. Benefits (Insurance, 401K matching) are not exceptional.
