Pros

Co-workers and patients are great. Both of which have nothing to do with the co. itself.

Cons

EVERYTHING ELSE! I don't have enough negative words to put down about this place. Awful place to work is an understatement!!!!! This so called professional ambulance company that is taking and you and your loved ones to and from the hospital, and they pay their employees min. wage. Yap you read that right! You pay THOUSANDS of dollars to be transported and they pay their employees minimum wage. To top it all off you work shifts of 24-48 hours straight with no food or sleep breaks then you get in trouble for telling them you need a break to use the bathroom, heaven forbid you're tired or have a question for them in the middle of the night. Yes, that's correct, don't call them when they're sleeping or you'll get in trouble. Management cares only about themselves and absolutely NOTHING else!!! The most unappreciated, badly managed, overworked and under paid 5 mo. of my life. Why is zero stars not an option?

Pros

Competitive Benefits, flexible schedule if you manage to get a shift, great coworkers

Cons

Terrible pay. Favoritism and nepotism is rampant. Constant games to get overtime/PTO approved. If you get settled into a shift, be prepared to be at the mercy of dispatch's mood swings and upper managements brainlet motto of maximizing profits via providing areas with low coverage and taking advantage of employees sense of duty to the community (and each other) to overwork them to physical exhaustion.

Pros

- Sprinters are more fun to drive than Fords (Falck mostly has Sprinters) - 6% 401k match*** pretty freaking impressive - to gain a few months experience to get a better job

Cons

The academy is very rah rah and gets you excited which is awesome, but then I start working and I noticed a lot of poor management practices, poor incentives i.e. FTOs get an extra $7 after tax for training employees which doesn't create incentive to train well, and doesn't make them feel like they're recognized as an important part of the company. Literally every single employee will have their first five days of field training to judge the company based on how the FTO perceives it. (I was not an fto) $0.60 pay bump to work CCT is laughable. (I did not work cct) There is a pay drop if you work ALS based on the way overtime works. (I did not work als) Driving down to Contra Costa every single shift from Sac gets tiring. This is required due to lack of coverage in the bay due to inadequate wages.

Thanks for taking the time to review your experiences and providing your advice to management whilst working at Falck. It's disappointing that you did not remain longer in the organization to experience the global changes occurring as a result of the transformation. I have however passed on your feedback deeper across the organization for their positive action. I wish you every success in your new role.
