Pros

The cost of living is affordable and there's little traffic in Tulare and Kings County. The co-workers and management are generally responsive and work with you. There are frequent bbqs and pot-lucks at each clinic.

Cons

Be prepared to do tons of paper-work especially on behalf of medi-cal insurance and Health Quality Measures. You will see some complex conditions but you have MD's, DO's, and psychologists to help you out in the Network

Pros

Friendly and very easy to adapt to your job duties. Vacation and sick leave pay is good. Bonus pay is good because it arrives you to be better as a team. Bonuses are given out when the clinic reaches its goal of customer service servers that they conduct monthly. Awesome for a first time job to get experience. I actually stayed there for 7 years.

Cons

Very late shifts and no stable schedule. Very competitive in everything. No room to grow within this company, if your good at something, they will keep you there and not let you expand your knowledge in other departments. Salary is unfair especially for the seniority. Yearly evaluation are very unfair, it seemed to me that the supervisors just guessed in what you had accomplished that year, instead of asking for feedback from other co-workers or providers. When requesting a time off, either vacation or sick...it was a challenge they always try their best to keep you there no matter what like "we are short staffed" in that case there are floats on other departments or clinics that can cover for a day or two. Management was unfair and would never stand for us as medical assistant, especially Supervisors. Sometimes there only one medical assistant working with a provider seeing about 35 pt a day including administering injections, physicals, paps, and procedures. This creates overtime and overtime is a no no for them, they tell us we should have asked for help, and when we do they ignore us sometimes, not all the time but most of the time.
