There would be a lot of pros to this job if it came with benefits and the owner didn’t speak to his employees disrespectfully or micromanaged them on a daily basis.
Cons
Steve doesn’t offer any sort of insurance, or benefits and doing dangerous work is a requirement. Such as, getting up in the boom truck without safety equipment, or harnesses. The job requires that employees use power tools on a regular basis, but again there is no guarantee for safety or insurance. When asked about what happens if an employee gets hurt on the job the best he can offer is worker’s comp. Steve is among the most unorganized business owners I’ve ever worked with. Nothing an employee can contribute goes appreciated, or receives commendation. There is no goal, or benchmark to meet. I would say for a competent employee, Steve is going to be in the way of professional, and career advancement. The only standards that Steve upholds are the ones that make him look favorable. He has no problem berating employees in front of clients, being condescending, even being verbally abusive to employees. I would not recommend anyone work here for any amount of time. Steve is not a fit person for anyone to acquire adequate experience, or acquire professional growth.
