* Terrible higher management with "fear culture" * Numerous cases when people got their back if they messed up multiple times but were "liked" by CTO or "original gang". On the contrary, you will be fired if you say anything against their innovative ideas. * "QA is a bottleneck" was established by the former CTO and is still maintained. They wanted to make everyone an engineer which successfully failed. * Unclear growth path - Average QA and terrible manager promoted to Director and now targeting people on her way * There are no clear expectations for the role. The job responsibilities are vague. Unclear expectations make sense when the job needs to be done quickly and everyone is empowered to do it, but it fails miserably during a performance review, and you can be promoted or fired for no reason. The "People team" is there to protect management decisions.
