High-Stress, Disorganized Environment – Run if You Can!!!

Pros

The people you work with are smart, talented, and generally enjoyable to collaborate with.

Cons

There is no work-life balance, as employees are expected to respond and work around the clock to cover both East and West Coast hours. Leadership is extremely disorganized, creating constant last-minute requests and unclear priorities. Much of your time is spent reporting information to leaders rather than solving problems or delivering meaningful work. The organization has frequent layoffs and multiple rounds of firings, often to make room for FAANG hires / executives’ friends, and most employees last less than a year. Employees are routinely expected to take ownership far beyond their role or title, yet there is a lack of accountability, and poor decisions by leadership are rarely acknowledged. Many employees were assigned to work on AI projects only to be laid off shortly after (replaced with AI projects they created!!!), which creates frustration, uncertainty, and low morale. Overall, the company operates in a state of chaos, and work often feels like constant firefighting. I would avoid working here at all costs — it’s an unstable environment and always stressful.

Pros

Salary and benefits are great, but it will cost your mental health

Cons

The people from top infuses a fear based culture It’s great to be remote, but you’re constantly fearing you might get fired cause you’re expected to get tight deadlines met. AI was an experiment to replace the workers as we had a hackathon to make our work easier.. but now it seems that was just a ploy to see how we can be replaced

It was great until it suddenly was not.

Pros

-Absolute smartest people (but not anymore) that I have ever worked with -Decent benefits -Remote-first company with office spaces we could use if in town

Cons

-Absolute destruction of trust in management. Starting in July, those smart people were all let go, arbitrarily. The entire software QA staff included, followed by an incident where hundreds of customers were told they won a sweepstakes, only to have it yanked back once it was discovered. -Trying to make investors happy by saying "it's an AI first" company, but the core problem they were trying to solve isn't an AI problem. -So tied to the whims of the Apple and Google Play stores, one wrong move and the app gets blocked.
