Pros

They recently hired a new sales VP who gets it and isn't pretending like everything is great and happy when it's not. I hope she is successful at bringing change. Generally fun customers to work with who love the product.

Cons

I don’t know where to begin. So much is so wrong at Figma right now. There is no clear direction to how we attain our number and leadership has changed their narrative and focus so many times over the last year. The market is over saturated and our (few) customers in our books are so, so sick of being sold to. It’s nearly impossible to articulate the value that we bring to our customers because everything but the design product is half-baked or wildly over-priced. It’s impossible to sell here at the moment and career progression is not always based on merit and typically rewarded to those willing to play into politics.

Pros

Figma is a generational company — the kind that reminds you why you got into tech in the first place. The product is beloved for a reason: it’s beautifully built, obsessively crafted, and deeply embedded in how the creative world works. The culture mirrors that same ethos — thoughtful, humble, values-driven, and full of people who genuinely care about doing great work together. I had the privilege of leading strategic GTM initiatives across global markets and partnering closely with some of the brightest minds in design, product, and growth. It was an environment that encouraged autonomy, clarity of thought, and customer-centricity — and where curiosity and craftsmanship were truly celebrated. The people are exceptional. Many will go on to found or lead world-class companies. I learned a lot and am deeply proud of the work we did together.

Cons

Like many high-growth companies, Figma is still navigating how to scale go-to-market functions with the same intentionality as product and engineering. For those outside of HQ or in newer functions, this can mean having to build the plane while flying it — which is thrilling for some, but exhausting for others. International teams can sometimes feel like an afterthought, and there’s room to improve cross-functional clarity and resourcing as the company matures. The Adobe acquisition also cast a long shadow over 2023 — with prolonged ambiguity that created strategic drag.

Pros

- Great team - everybody was working hard but not excessively so (work-life balance was very valued) - Short shipping cycle - new features were shipped every week and had direct impact on the product

Cons

- Feedback was seriously lacking - since there was no "direct" hierarchy in place, it was often tough to get good feedback on your work - Office politics - since there is no transparent feedback process, it was unclear how promotions are taking place, and those were seemingly random - Intransparent hiring policies - seemed to gear mostly towards ensuring some kind of diversity (whatever definition that entails) and not actual technical skill - Leadership - CEO doesn't have good skills to actually manage and provide a direction for the company, there doesn't seem to be a common goal
