This is a slave-driving company to work for. They say "work life balance" but they don't mean it. There is so much work to do that you work 10 to 12 hour days to keep up. They don't care. You do the work, or leave. It's a revolving door. Now that DeSantis raised starting teachers' salary, they can't afford to pay teachers so they redesigned the rating system to justify paying teachers an even lower raise (if any that year). If you don't keep up, they put you on a plan and if your numbers aren't there, they fire you. Student load is super high. I can have between 175 and 180 students on a continuous basis. They make you responsible for students not working with no way to make the students responsible. If one day is a holiday that week, they give you "strategies" to get all the work done in the 4 remaining days. This means, you just get all 5 days wort of work done in 4 days. Taking a sick day just means more work, if you go on vacation, they expect you to get everything in order before you leave. Part of your evaluation is based on whether students and parents call you back, which is totally out of your control. Oh, and there is very little teaching involved. Any teaching you do is in addition to the 10 to 12 hours of work they expect from you each day. People that say they get the work done in a shorter amount of time, work at 150 miles per hour, every hour, every day, every week. It's hard to keep up. After 7 years, I regret giving up my family, not being there for them, giving my all for students, to just be abused by this company. I'm actively trying to get out now.
