Pros

Fast Paced. Good discounts since you have to wear the shoes sold within the banners . Uniform so no need to worry about what to wear everyday . Build loyal relationships with customers internal and external .

Cons

Work/ life balance can be very challenging for management . Fiscal responsibility to stay within hours and still get the job done in big box stores can be stressful . DM's are not always supportive. HR director of the west is very questionable .

Pros

• 50%-off family discount twice a year • okay benefits, but nothing that amazing

Cons

• no opportunity to grow your career; a lot of empty promises and stalling between managers and HR • pay is not competitive; HR lies about doing market research and is awful at justifying why they underpay you • entire company is outdated and out of touch with current trends, marketing, and technology • lazy, inexperienced, and unqualified management that cannot provide clear direction or goals • management takes advantage of team; expects everyone to work long hours and dismisses people who ask for support or to be compensated • CEO and VP's only care about other executives; no appreciation for junior-level employees • boy's club mentality in the corporate office; women are openly treated as inferiors • multiple executives have made me feel uncomfortable/not safe, especially when they drink too much at office functions

Management team who gaslights you

Pros

I worked with great colleagues who were consistently much more helpful than management.

Cons

What a disaster of a management team. They give you very little "training" and expects you to know everything on your own. Every question you ask them, they will answer it as if it were dumb questions. They criticize, but give no praises or thank you's. They will gaslight and undermine your accomplishments/goals as if you didn't meet the criteria for said goals. Throw away your work/life balance because they will message you at 9pm asking if you've finished XYZ, and furthermore, if you don't answer over the weekend, they will blame you for not being a "team player". They will ask you to request PTO, even when you'll be out for a few hours - while expecting you to work beyond 5pm - consistently. If you ever reach the interview process, ask them about their work/life balance - if they can't answer with a straight face that they're living a healthy & happy work/life balance, run away fast, you just found the department to avoid. They don't know how to address your concerns because they will gaslight you and say your concerns aren't as bad as theirs or what they've had to deal with in the past. Management team is computer smart, but not people smart. Given the fact that they are lifers and have been there for well over a decade, work is all they know and expect employees to do the same. They are overworked and understaffed, and don't seem to understand that. I am not usually an emotional person, but they are extremely effective at making you feel worthless, I even cried a few times because of the stress. After speaking to my colleagues, it appears that they too have cried because of how they were being spoken to. All in all, in the span of my career, I have never felt so devalued and belittled as a person; my mental health was on the line. I was extremely dumbfounded to even experience this in 2022.
