Pros

1) Well known & trusted brand on the West Coast. 2) Lucky to still hang on to the magical success of the "Imposters" TV campaign established more than a decade ago.

Cons

1) Bad behavior (sometimes very bad) happens here and is routinely ignored, allowed, and quietly justified up to the highest levels of management where someone should know better. 2) Leadership is weak & cross-functional alignment runs surface deep with unspoken opposing agendas causing constant internal tension & distrust. 3) While a vision for expansive CPG growth has been touted by marketing/sales leadership & CEO, it is little more than a presentation with placeholder initiatives that rely on cross-functional alignment & resources that are not part of reality at Foster Farms. 4) Good ol' boys club that is overly operations & efficiency focused with little weight of organizational effort placed on what it will take to change & grow. 5) Brand rested on its past success and fell behind the times.

Pros

What happened to this company? Bad leadership and failed changes have hurt Foster Farms. With the CEO leaving I don't see much positive because senior management is not representing the interests of Foster Farms. Let's face it the changes didn't work. We've been successful for 76 years. We still have the best corndog in the county and the best frozen and fresh chicken

Cons

The cons are too many to list but they start with failed leadership that doesn't know how to lead. We had a good culture but that is gone now. We brought in some of the very best talent for all over the county that brought some positive change. They made Foster Farms a better place and a more fun place to work. Yet we are watching our best talent get pushed out the door due to politics. Recent departures have left the office sad, demoralized, and questioning our top brass. Morale is low and trust is low. Most want to leave and spend their day searching for new opportunities. The culture is bad and people want out. We need someone to stop the bleeding. I've never questioned an organization before as much as I do this one. Decisions make no sense and Foster Farms does not seem to care that our best people are being pushed out. It is a real sad time for me as someone that thought I'd be here forever.

Pros

Excellent Benefits Package. Being a salary employee, it has its perks when it comes to holidays.

Cons

HR needs to improve greatly. Other companies of the same size have a much better trained and effective HR team. When recruiting, they promise education reimbursement but do not tell you about the fine print. You need to have a superintendent position to even be considered for education reimbursement for a master's degree. They falsely advertise that they promote from within. Unfortunately, they hire somebody from the outside before considering a current employee that is highly qualified. Politics play a huge role when it comes to climbing the ladder; they are reluctant to innovation and fresh ideas and will only listen to your suggestions if are all for the company and not for the employees. Wages could be better. There are a lot of hours to be put in as a salary employee. If you manage people, expect to have your phone in your hand at all times. Work/ Life balance can become stressful.
