Pros

Frontier appears to be still hiring developers and I bet the pay is pretty good. The thing that makes this company great is the laid back environment and I bet it isn't too hard to get hired here either now. They try to stay up to date with technology and they have some pretty good developers.

Cons

Sometimes the management is too laid back. They allow anyone that appears to know they are doing run the show if that person is loud enough and sounds convincing enough. I didn't feel like anyone really had my back when I was there. My manager just let contract developers walk all over me and only acted like he was intervening. I worked my behind off trying to meet deadlines only to have those deadlines vaporize as soon as I met them because management didn't know what they wanted or some other dependent department would stop us or slow us down. The worst part was being constantly interrupted to do stupid bureaucratic nonsense .I would not work at Frontier again until they get rid of their contract developers and I am given authority to remove obstacles and people that get in the way of progress and innovation.

Pros

I honestly have nothing good to say about this company. My experience there was that bad. I feel bad for the people that are still working there.

Cons

Where do I start? Pay was laughably noncompetitive with the industry, and the benefits are abysmal compared to my previous and current employers. Training at frontier was expected on your own dime, as they continually pulled the training budget every year yet expected you to maintain technical fluency to keep doing your job. The equipment they have is horribly ancient, and their broadband product is so horrible I was embarrassed to say I worked there because when I did I got nothing but vitriol from usually former customers who were subjected to frontier's billing system.
