Pros

Working as an outside tech is a great job. It is hard to match the freedom that comes with it. Also, one outside tech is responsible for all aspects of the outside plant from pots to circuits allowing for a wider skill set as opposed to AT&T which is broken up into different groups which handle different jobs. Being a telephone repair man always carries a great deal of pride. It's a man's job that requires a great deal of technical aptitude and problem solving skills.

Cons

The executive at Frontier from the CEO to the local managers think they are doing a wonderful job, but are essentially destroying the company and ruining morale. Getting materials and tools is difficult and there is no money being put into restoring or updating the plant. It seems as if Frontier is only concerned with fooling Wallstreet for as long as possible.

Pros

Great hourly thanks to Verizon! Great commission pay out for top performers again thanks to an existing contract from before we switched to frontier. Steady work ....for now.

Cons

If you were hired after 7-1-10 I'm sorry for you I don't think it's right what they pay you guys. All the veterans (old VZ reps) seem to get treated worse and worse as time goes on.... The company is mass hiring folks at extremely low rates, and I'm sorry but if you hire people at a low rate your gonna get a lower quality of people. I'm tiered of fixing customers accounts after the new unqualified folks screw their accounts up. I could go on for hours on the cons but you catch my drift. I almost feel i will be relieved when our existing contract is up because it will be all over. If your considering working here....don't
