TLDR: in the pursuit of higher than ever revenue goals the growth team has become a churn and burn. Middle management is unapproachable and front line managers are becoming neurotic micromanagers. Favoritism undermines hard work.
In a 2 month period we've gone from being AE's with a majority of closed deals resulting from inbound leads to being told we're half SDR now. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with needing to outbound, it's just not how they sold the position. Bait and switch. Pair that with higher quotas, raised pricing, smaller territories, harder to attain accelerators and less warm leads per rep because of excessive hiring and you set reps up for failure. Be very weary of what they tell you as far as reps attaining quota and what the day to day looks like while interviewing, especially for the growth segment, I know of people just hired who have been very surprised.
In addition to the above, there are a handful of reps that seem to be favorites to management and somehow always get the highest value leads "randomly" assigned to them. You know, the leads that end up closing for 5x more than the average deal size. Perfect fit companies with deep pockets always seem to already be in these reps names or get assigned to them and this continues until you end up with a few reps 200-300% to quota while the rest of us struggle to get to 70%. You're made to feel like you're making excuses or undermining others success if you notice this inequality but anyone who knows how to use Salesforce can see what's going on.
Middle management leads with ego. On all hands they speak in pleasantries about being committed to helping you develop and earn more but in practice they're the type of sales leaders who want to give off an intimidating demeanor so you fear them and work harder instead of leveling with you to understand your challenges and look for solutions. They also preach Clarity and Empathy as an organization yet I can say I've been treated with the opposite in recent months.
