Low-key the best place to work in Atlanta

Pros

Full-disclosure: I've worked at two other companies that both won "Best Place to Work" awards in Atlanta, and FullStory is HANDS DOWN my favorite place that I've worked. Here's what I love about it: - Exceptional product with a purpose; FullStory the app helps people deliver better customer experiences online which a) helps businesspeople do their jobs better but also b) makes the internet a lovelier place for everyone; win-win-win; - Clear communication about direction and vision; leadership does an especially good job of laying out plans and initiatives so that everyone can row in the same direction together; - Collaborative autonomy; the OKR format and matrix-style management system give me a sense of freedom to pursue the projects that I think will have the most positive impact, and I feel supported and encouraged to work with others to achieve my goals. Also, the people here are smart, funny, kind, and conscientious. Granted, there are wonderful humans at lots of companies in Atlanta. I'm just saying that the humans who are here are also wonderful.

Cons

The company is growing fast and the typical, expected startup / scale-up growing pains are starting to twinge. There will probably be some awkward flailing as everyone institutes the processes that need to get in place to support growth.

Good, but not great

Pros

- Smart engineers and designers - Product is definitely unique with several defensible patents - Product can ingest huge amounts of data, making it potentially very valuable - Backed by top tier VCs - Clear vision - Very strong, successful marketing initiatives around driving word of mouth traffic - Huge market and growth potential

Cons

- Culturally company thinks a bit too much of itself - On their 3rd VP of Sales - It's almost blasphemy to criticize company culture - Career growth is super murky - Company has been winning for awhile and is now entering markets where it's not as easy, and some people forgot what it's like not to win all the time - There's an occasional air of arrogance, like no competitor can be good or doing something better - The company is ridiculously frugal and cheap when it comes to perks or office events or even our desks. It's some kind of mark of pride who can do something the cheapest, makes no sense how far they push it.
