Pros

People + Stellar product team. Great credentials, backgrounds, and industry expertise. These folks have been around the block and can build/scale anything. + Extremely thoughtful and empathetic people throughout the company. + Across departments, hiring bar is extremely high. Everyone is motivated and forward-thinking. + Product development culture was historically optimized for quality over speed although sometimes that meant moving slower than is ideal. Product + Addictive, paradigm-shifting product. Probably the only product I've worked on that prospective users immediately love and develop long-lasting loyalty for. This is rare and extremely important. + Very interesting design and engineering problems to solve. Business + Founders are just good people. It's a simple as that and it counts for a lot. + Org chart is pretty flat and the culture around enacting change is vibrant albeit somewhat unstructured. Self-starting, entrepreneurial people will love it. More conservative, corporate types will have to leave their comfort zone to be heard. + Mgmt and Ops are empathetic and constantly iterating on process. Growth is hard but so far has been handled gracefully. + Unicorn-like revenue growth. Mgmt takes transparency around metrics seriously.

Cons

+ Not excessively clear pathways upwards. Relatively flat org chart is great if you want to remain an individual contributor. Somewhat limiting if you're trying to do move towards leadership. That said, this seems normal for a startup at this stage. + While FullStory offers excellent compensation and benefits, stock options are not on the same level.

Pros

They take the concept of "guided autonomy" to a whole new level. I've been here for about 9 months and it honestly took me 6 months to get to a point where I actually internalized the fact that they actually mean everything they say. They only hire the best and as such the believe if they communicate the vision and directly fully, there's no reason to manage people. Why would you want to manage people who are capable of out thinking you. All you'll do is stifle them. I don't think this style of management is right for all companies and it may be a challenge at scale, but if anyone can make this sing, these people can do it.

Cons

Sometimes "guided autonomy" feels a little like "observed chaos". Granted, when you come out the other side, it was worth it, but in the moment it can feel a little nuts. I'm growing to love that though.

Pros

The product is amazing, customers love it and it has the potential to transform the ways businesses serve their customers. Few companies have the opportunity to make such a broad impact. For a fast growing company, the leadership is very conscious of how the organization is built to ensure the culture stays intact, individuals have the ability to contribute without bureaucracy, and things get done that propel the company forward. As the company continues to grow, opportunities & new career paths will surely be available to employees.

Cons

In a competitive market, FullStory needs to innovate & take new things to market quickly to maintain their edge and/or compete effectively. Some processes can be more efficient so we can move faster.
