Pros

A lovely building and flex time (for those allowed to take it).

Cons

Managers with any kind of management training or know-how are let go or, more often, leave -- especially women. Favoritism abounds and bad behavior is overlooked if you are "in" with upper management. The software utilizes an archaic architecture model and language, making it difficult to hire exceptional developers. Advancement is tied more to who you know, than what you know.

Industry leader and great place to work

Pros

Gateway Ticketing is a leader worldwide in the ticketing/admissions industry. It is a fun place to work with a dedicated staff and has fun customers (think large theme parks, zoos and museums). The office is beautiful and located away from the traffic jams. If you like complex systems and hard work you will enjoy it. It has a very engaged management and there is a strong culture of listening to everyone's ideas. Complete transparency of the companies financials with monthly updates and celebrations.

Cons

It could be a bit of a commute depending where you live but the work from home policies often help offset that.

Pros

A lot of knowledgeable people with great personalities, easy to build work relationships and friendships with someone within the small company. PTO provided to all employees from day 1 is great and increases over time. Some in leadership have a greater appreciation for work-life balance.

Cons

Some in leadership have the tendency to micro-manage instead of trusting subordinates to perform tasks as assigned. This can lead to energy drain and conflicting instructions from the same leader. Time entry is micro-managed to a very finite level is masked as a necessity as time is money.

Every leader at Gateway provides a weekly 1 on 1 opportunity for each of their team members to discuss any issues or concerns. In our industry, time entry is necessary in many cases to track and bill projects and provide information on product development, customer service and other internal functions.
