Pros

The discount is reasonable - 30%. Most of the people that work there are really nice and welcoming, the lower management seem to be more accommodating toward new employees (2IC).

Cons

I wish i could praise this company due to my love for their brands. However, my experience was terrible. The management hired me knowing i had no retail experience, and to my surprise was not provided with training until a month and a half in, or when they realized that i couldn't make them enough money. The training consisted of about 1-2 hours within one of my shifts on how to 'approach' customers and how to own my space as if it were 'my house. It did not seem to work for me. I brought it down to me not being right for retail, but no one becomes an expert in anything, in 1-2 hours, maybe some more effort would have proved beneficial for me and the companies sales. The highly sales orientated culture is one that proves to be a detriment to the company. I was receiving the same targets as people that had been in the company for 3-4 years. It creates a class divide where you are not praised as much as existing employees, and you feel as you are not worth as much to the company. This translates into a scheduling system which has little to no structure. My shifts were often cancelled one to two days prior due to 'budget'reasons. I acknowledge that a casual contract allows for this, however, structure is always valued by employees. The "hyping' at the start of every shift is the biggest indicator of this culture. It is simply about methods the company wants you to use to make them money, or get customers to sign up for email marketing. In addition to this, a common culture of high staff turnover was very prevalent. Employees would leave after only a few months. Personally i only stuck around for three.

Pros

Expects and delivers a high level of customer service experience. Generally flexible with the casual team. Great store vibe with people you want to go to work with.

Cons

Naturally KPIs drive a store's motivations, but there's a lot of unnecessary pressure to deliver which creates a very uncomfortable work environment. The incentives that present themselves are generally okay, but considering their high customer service expectations that is not commission based, would like to see more recognition towards those that excel.
