Great place to work early in your career due to tuition benefits, skills and network. Good exposure to function of large organizations.

Cons

Bureaucracy makes many processes inefficient. Office politics are the sole basis for high-level decisions in some parts of the university which has had negative consequences.

One of the best retirement plans I've seen. Great health insurance. Lots of collaboration across departments.

Cons

Job functions didn't always match the job description...so you were doing multiple jobs (only an issue because of low salary). Processes take a long time.
