Pros

Coworkers outside upper management are great. Can be interesting work with high responsibility levels.

Cons

They do the minimum they can for their employees and treat (almost) everyone as just a number. One big example of this is they refuse to post salary ranges for their positions in California and Colorado despite being fully aware that it is legally required in those states. It's likely cheaper for them to risk paying the fines than to be upfront about how low their salaries are. Even internally, they refuse to provide any guidelines towards leveling and promotions or salary ranges for positions. They provide no remote flexibility and very little flexibility for hours.

None - on the Globus side, except that I'll say my Teammates I have met at our PA/Boston Offices are all super friendly outside of work. On the NuVasive side; where to begin? Everything from NuVa's culture to leadership was hands down better than we are getting from GMed. That being said, We had our fair share of cronyism and bad leadership. But overall, it is a fantastic company environment.

Cons

The Executive Leadership is the worst I have ever seen. The company is run like a dictatorship, all led by fear. fear that if they don't do exactly what our President of the Board of Directors wants, your fired. By the way, this is also the reality. The GMed Leadership Team acquired NuVasive, not because we were known as the Leaders in Innovation, including GMed only known for their low prices and knock-off products. We were acquired because GMed was willing to give NuVa's board a great financial settlement. Additionally, GMed just wanted to suppress the competition, which they did.

Can’t think of much beyond the free ice cream on Fridays.

Cons

Horrible management and culture. I have never worked at a place with such a toxic work environment. There is no flexibility. No work/life balance. Management spends their entire days walking around checking up on their employees as if they don’t trust them...oh they don’t trust them. There is no leadership, no guidance just a straight dictatorship. No wonder the turnover rate is so high. Run as fast as you can.
