What attracted me to GoCanvas in the first place, is what has in fact kept me here- I have now been at this company for over a year, and I plan on staying as long as they'll have me. I could write all day, but here are the highlights:
-We are a company that lives and breathes it's values with a passionate CEO and executive leadership team, who practice empathy and are incredibly transparent where it counts. I've worked at many different organizations across industry over the last 10 years- and all too often I see companies throw up their mission statement and core values on their website, and they are never talked about again. This is not the case for GoCanvas. Our values are woven through the fabric of our community and culture, and we are fiercely protective over our foundation that we have built upon, which make us the great, award-winning company that we are today.
-We as employees, are consistently asked for feedback, suggestions, and ideas about how to boost our employee experience, and are encouraged to have a seat at the table when strategizing not only our goals and contributions to the company, but how to continue to make GoCanvas a great place to work. The fact that our leadership team provides opportunities for us to speak up and have a voice is refreshing and motivating - I feel like I can use my voice to affect change within the organization even in small ways - I feel empowered!
-Whatever negative reviews there are of specific executive leadership team members are simply untrue. I have had the opportunity to sit down and talk individually with every member of our leadership team and have worked with each one in some shape or form - they all are incredibly knowledgable, competent and empathetic leaders, who lead by example. I remember one All Hands specifically, where our CEO posted some pictures during his presentation of the early days of the company, where he was operating out of his home at the time. There were space heaters everywhere, white boards with scribbled numbers and notes, and a large dining room table, which now has a special place in our office to this day, to remind us all of the hard work it takes to grow a successful company. This resonated with me on many levels specifically, as it was amazing to see how far we have come, even though I was not there in the early years - very inspiring for young professionals and really all professionals, alike! I've watched our fearless CRO jump on board when he first started and hit the ground running, implementing positive change across the organization, putting processes and structure in place where there wasn't before. Our VP for People and Culture is one of the most competent and caring VP's of HR I've known/observed, willing to sit down with any employee on any given day and give her time and attention. I've seen our Sales managers and directors act as their team's biggest cheerleaders, rooting them on and celebrating their wins and encouraging employees when there have been harder days. We celebrate each other. We root for each other. We care about each other. Who wouldn't want to work for a company like that? Who wouldn't want to work with leadership like that? There is a reason that we consistently continue to win awards from the likes of well known publishers and organizations such as Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 list, DCA Live's Red Hot Companies List, D.C. Inno's Coolest Companies List, Business Insider, and many, many more.
-In house professional development! I've seen employees join the company in one role, but decide that the role they are in isn't necessarily a fit. No problem! Our leadership is passionate about everyone performing the role and the kind of work they want to be doing, and if there's a way to transition cross-departmentally or even to just gain a new set of skills or take a peek into the responsibilities of a different department, those opportunities are provided. It is very rare to have this kind of opportunity to gain new skill sets or learn about other aspects of the business in this way. I've never had the chance to do anything like this at any other place I have worked.
-It's also worth it to mention all of our amazing company benefits and perks. We have awesome, diverse benefit offerings, incredibly flexible schedules, unlimited PTO and work from home opportunities, and professional development is absolutely encouraged. Not to mention two fully stocked kitchens, gym partnerships, meal delivery services, catered lunches, cake days, lunch and learn with wellness professionals, in house massages, and fun company and team outings sprinkled in between as well.
You want a company to grow your skills, be challenged in a positive way, learn to better understand how a company can/should grow, work with talented leaders, have fun at work, be encouraged and still be able to take a dream vacation using your unlimited PTO? GoCanvas is for you.
