Pros

Strong brand. Advancement opportunities. Common culture and procedure on a global level. Goodyear is a company that has enjoyed historic success and built one of the best brands in the world. Who does not recognize Goodyear? But the world is flat and the brand must evolve and the go-to-market must reflect increased ability for customers to know everything your products before they make a purchase decision. Not only Goodyear, but global distribution must reflect this understanding.

Cons

The hours are long and the company needs to move more quickly out of an antique business model. Also, merit increases are small.

Pros

It's a well-known company which looks good on a resume. They tend to have decent starting salaries.

Cons

The yearly 'merit increases' are pretty low - typically around 2-3%. Goodyear carries a lot of debt and so it is difficult to carry out large projects. Because it is such a big company there is a ton of red tape any time you want something done in purchasing or legal. If you want something done this month...forget it.

Pros

We have great local team. As the organisation is very lean there is plenty of variety. I am unable to find any other reasons.

Cons

Work, work & more work. Absolutely no work life balance. Goodyear management think they own your every waking moment. This is an organisation with no planning - everyday is a new drama. This is also an organisation that does not value its employees. Associates effected by any changes are always the last to be advised. Very political - senior management always looking for a scape goat - never take any responsibility. Further senior management have a very short term goals - only interest in their promotion. Financial anaylsis in this organisation is out of control. A huge amounts of manhours are spent collecting useless data. When will Keegan realise all this data does not sell tires.
