Pros

Pros: None experienced (the team members I met were polite during the event).

Cons

I attended a GovCIO hiring event in Springfield, VA, for the new U.S. Coast Guard support contract. I applied for multiple roles, met several senior leaders, and had what seemed like positive conversations. I was even told to plan on a possible start date no later than October 1. After the event, I followed up professionally via email to thank everyone and provide my contact information. Weeks went by with no clear communication—only vague updates like “things are busy,” “waiting for customer approval,” or “let it run its course.” Six weeks later, I was told all the roles had been filled, and only then received an automated notification that one of my applications had been canceled.

Pros

Getting paid twice a month. 401k match. Some talented coworkers.

Cons

Micro management is gradually getting worse. "Mean girls" leadership group. Between January 2025 to June 2025 they quietly laid off over 300 people. Only 1% yearly raise. If you're not a part of the popular kids in school you'll feel ostracized. Mean leadership has no problem throwing you under the bus to cover up their mistakes.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and take your concerns seriously. Annual salary increases vary based on several factors, including individual performance, contract terms, and client budgets. We understand this can be frustrating, and we’re always open to discussing compensation questions directly. Our leadership team is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment. If employees ever feel otherwise, we strongly encourage reaching out to HR, we are here to listen and address any concerns confidentially and constructively. While contract changes and cancellations are an unfortunate reality in federal contracting, we make every effort to notify the impacted employees as early as possible. Our Internal Mobility list ensures affected team members receive priority consideration for new internal roles so they can continue building their careers with GovCIO. We appreciate your contributions and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The women in HR are nice and helpful

Cons

the management will take care of their friends instead of the good employees. They will tell you that you can't do something while they do it right in front of your face. Management will not take accountability for their mistakes. Management will conspire to get rid of the people who will speak up against them. Management harbors a lot of information that would be helpful to others. Management will try to undermine anyone who can outshine them in the technical space.
