First year with Grainger

Pros

Good pay, good work & life balance, friendly co-workers, team work with others Anyone is willing to help each other no matter how big or small the problem is They offer great ways to move up the company and other employees can help you succeed with that.

Cons

Training could be better especially if machines break down. You have to call support to help you and it can be difficult at some times. It would be nice to have training to do scenarios before hand and learn hands on.

Pros

Wonderful co-workers and customers. Decent salary and benefits.

Cons

I had 5 managers in 5 years. They all wanted to change the world but failed epically. We supported the sales team and were responsible for the bulk of the sales at our customer locations, yet we didn't get commission or incentives. The sales team reaped those benefits. Although some of the salespeople were wonderful, some of them would pressure us into getting "more sales" so they could meet their quotas and get more commission. I was always told that I was going to be taken into consideration for promotion, however, when they downsized I was told I was going to have my pay decreased and I was going to be demoted. It was then that I made the decision to move on. Luckily I made the right move as half of my tea was let go only a couple months later. This company has no real loyalty to their employees.
