Pros

A company wide week off in the month of July. Can gain great skills to land a more successful job. Learn to work under intense pressure especially during the tax season. If you can handle this place, every other job will be super easy.

Cons

Intensely long hours during tax season. Work life balance is kinda a lie. Management struggles to retain new associates as they are not equipped to train and help them grow. Pay is low compared to other companies, as you grow in the company it barely increases. I have met so many software engineers who worked at block over 10 years and are still making under 100k year. A lot of management is Indian, which is not a problem, but they hire other Indians exclusively. The only diversity I’m seeing is the addition of associates from the accelerator program they have.

Tax season and the time leading up to it are insanely busy.
