Pros

Very good training manuals and classes for all levels of employees. Very flexible scheduling. The people who work for H&R Block seem very happy to be there. Company provides employees with the tools they need to succeed on the job, and is receptive to suggestions for improvement. Company offers limited benefits for the seasonal employees.

Cons

The pay scale is quite low for the amount of experience and professionalism that is expected of its employees, as well as would be expected of a nationally known company.

Pros

They offer a great deal of flexibility of schedule, co-workers are generally friendly; knowledgeable and supportive supervisors. The salary is comparable to similar positions. The company provides training and support for new comers.

Cons

The company offers only seasonal jobs. I don't think former employees have a "priority" for re-hire from season to season.

Pros

They were flexible with working with me on my school schedule. The pay was amazing, at the time most of my friends were making minumum wage and I was making significantly more. I'm sure in these economic times they are a bit more tight with their payroll but I have no doubt they are still competitive. It was amazing experience to add to my resume, I am still surprised at how respected they are within their field and the diversity of career options I've had with this customer service experience.

Cons

I've noticed there is a lot of red tape as far as things having to be done a certain way. I think a lot of this has to do with the legality of working in a tax office, but I think there should be some more flexibility in the system.
