Pros

Good place to learn. I suggest that if you are an accounting student you spend a year working at Block. Good short term employment, especially if out accounting for a few years.

Cons

Tax pros have little opportunity for advancement. Most managers and corp exec's have no tax prep experience. As you gain expience and grow your book of clients, your bonus will grow, however they will try to reassign your easy clients and this will limit your bonus growth. Expect heavy pressure to sell credit cards, POM and other products that most clients don't really need.

- Career advancement as a female employee is minimal. - Employee churn (organic or company-driven) can be highly disruptive to employee productivity and morale after tax season.
