Pros

The majority of my Pros are attributed to H&R Block hiring me at a very tough time in my life when I really needed a steady job. They took a shot on me and I feel like I worked my butt off for them. HOWEVER, if you are deciding between multiple jobs, then I will try and leave as honest of a review as possible so that you can make the best educated choice. This is absolutely an entry level IT job. If you want to break into IT, this is your chance. All I had before getting hired by Block was my Comptia A+. You will have to learn a TON in a relatively short time (1 monthish). There was always somebody to ask for help. Mileage was great, especially with how much they make you drive for this job. As long as you do your work and on time, management does not get on your case. You do end up learning a LOT about basic IT functions and equipment. I left H&R Block knowing so much more than when I joined.

Cons

This is a hybrid role. On-site and support from home. I will break down my cons to two parts. I want to preface though, this job requires a LOT of work. So the on-site/field portion of the job is basically you managing the offices in your districts right off the bat. You will need to coordinate with the other department managers in your area and take ownership of the IT functions of those offices. You will be responsible for AT LEAST 20+ offices. Let me advise to whoever gets this job to have a beater car. I really don't recommend using a nice car because they expect you to haul a lot of dirty heavy equipment. There are parts of this job that feel like manual labor, I remember having a lot of tired days. The support side is very hard at first but once you learn all the information it was the best part of the job. There would be busy and slow days obviously but the slow days are nice. It is hard to get 40 hours a week when you don't have the work to do. The phone can get you more consistent hours but when it gets slow they will ask you to take VTO.

Pros

I love being able to stay busy. I have also been able to get help when needed and am able to assist other tax pros when I can.

Cons

sometimes there are "too many cooks in the kitchen". At the front desk everyone has the same job, but it can get confusing at times on who has done what already and what is left to do.
