Pros

Unlimited access to tax information and certifications.

Cons

The amount of work expected is not possible within a 40-hr week. The pay does not adequately compensate for the hours needed to be invested. Additionally, our targets were changed a few weeks before the end of tax season, causing some office managers to lose their bonuses they had legitimately earned.

Pros

You can get good knowledge of taxation and gain an experience during busy tax season.

Cons

This is seasonal job - no room for career.

Pros

First hand and in-depth exposure to new IRS rules. Great people in my office to work with. Meet new people, clients, and keep my returning clients. Close to where I live. Keeps me up to date to get my own taxes done as well as my client's taxes.

Cons

I need to stick with the business year round in order to properly keep up with things, but still every year when tax season ends I am laid off again. My hourly income has actually gone down throughout the years due to them claiming different pay scales. Classes that are cheap but I still am required to pay for in order to start a new tax season.
