Pros

It's a good experience; you'll learn more about individual taxation, the different forms, and how to maximize your benefits/credits/deductions. Also, since you work with many different clients, your communication skills should improve. My supervisor was also helpful.

Cons

There really was no room for growth. Once tax season is over, so is the position. The hours are long, but that is to be expected, near the end of the tax season. The wage is low, and there are no benefits.

Pros

The job ends with tax season. U can do it at night and work a job that pays in the daytime

Cons

pay is not much above min wage. No chance to gat a bonus unless you are there all the time and rush everything. Sr people ignore you as they are too bz rushing their work to get a bonus

Pros

Has some good people who are very dedicated to their jobs. HR is seen as an asset in this organization. Traveled to support various locations is nice. During the tax season (January-April), you are very busy. Things calm down after mid May, so you can catch your breath. You will never be bored in this posiiton.

Cons

Business is trending downward. With the advent of Turbo Tax and being able to do your own taxes at home online, the business model of coming into an H&R Block office to get your taxes done is becoming obsolete and very expensive, relative to the software that Inuit provides (TurboTax). If you are interested in working for Block, you need to keep this in mind. Layoffs have occured over the recent years and this is the reason why H&R Block ishas been losing business.
