Pros

schedule flexibility, continuing education program, pay based on your drive to level up and number of hours

Cons

upper managements lack of understanding/knowledge of the struggles in the trenches. Their drive for shareholders satisfaction over that of the tax preparers. Their face. The reason many of the clients come back year after year.

Pros

This is a great place to learn basic tax prep skills and increase client service skills.

Cons

This is a dead-end job. Most clients have relatively simple returns, so associates have a difficult time gaining advanced skills, and are therefore going to have a difficult time advancing their career or being hired elsewhere.
