Pros

Great CEO, genuinely cares about people.

Cons

There is a very real woke culture at H&R Block. You couldn't get through the lobby most weeks without something being celebrated. I am all for celebrating diversity and inclusion. But it was crickets on Veterans Day. No note from management to Veterans. One culture is flexible, inclusive, etc. For IT, you are expected to be in the office every day and while they can't enforce that, it is enforced in performance reviews. The lowest paid member of my team (by a wide margin) - for years, despite my efforts, was African American.

Pros

If you are looking to become a Tax Professional and/or a Tax Advisor this can be a very good job for you. It can give you study tools and practice for a 40 to 80 Hour non real time exam. But the work is in real-time and they start you where they need you at the front. The Tax Pros are so wonderful and helpful.

Cons

Retail position with no set schedule no advance notice ever. Poor communication no email was ever used except for Campaign Calls. Breaks were rarely offered.
