Pros

The work suited my temperament and was good money for extra stuff

Cons

I went to work at H&R Block this morning. Absolutely my final day. I come in, turn on the lights, unlock the doors, check my email and my appointment manager. I'm scheduled until 3, there's another guy scheduled to 430. Then a third guy comes at 430 and finishes the day. None of us have appointments scheduled today, but if Block wants us there, fine. Except the other guy doesn't show, and his client comes in looking for him,. I text the manager to see if she could reach him. By the way, I've dressed down, wearing black jeans and a polo. I soon get a call from the manager, within 15 minutes, telling me they decided to just close it for the day. His client had left by then, tired of waiting, but another client came in. Then he called and said he'd be up in ten minutes. Now I don't need to be there at all, except to wait for him to come in. He can close up. Right after hanging up, I get a schedule update. No hours scheduled for today's date. So I delayed sleeping, came in when I didn't need to (except I was scheduled), and wound up with an hour of work today. You know I went straight to sleep when l got home.

Pros

I like my manager and coworkers at the location. The pay and flexibility was nice.

Cons

The systems make it hard to do our jobs sometimes with how restrictive it is.

Pros

It’s a job and I hear they will hire anyone if you pass their tax class which they will most likely pay for because they treat their employees so bad that people drop like flies.

Cons

Only one bathroom at our location which is in a shopping center. Distract Manager does not care if you are a woman. He purposely schedules you alone and the creepy clients are allowed in the back room without supervision. I just had a client walk in on me because they refused to fix the lock until they sent someone back unattended in this creepy back hall way that goes to our restroom,. Sorry that happened to you, we fixed the lock but letting clients unattended in our back took and back door unattended is ok. That’s the email I got back from this dm.
