Pros

Great teamwork from coworkers. Good support from management team. Flexible schedules. There are a lot of available tax courses to move up in levels from tax associate to senior tax advisor 5. Very nice offices and helpful tech support.

Cons

First year tax pro compensation is bad. Initial training was lacking. Be prepared to deal with irate clients. Upper management only cares about the numbers. They give you a goal and push you hard to reach your goal.

Pros

Flexible schedule, work as little or as much as you wish. Work with knowledgeable co-workers. Free tax preparation advice. Some paid free time if you are a student or have another job. Great training program. Many training opportunities.

Cons

Compensation isn't great in the first year, but increases in second year. Seasonal only. No control of pricing. They ask you to do the marketing work as well though, which means tell everyone you've ever met that you'll do their taxes. Asked to approach strangers as well. On April 13th through 15th, you'll work overtime whether you want to or not.
