Pros

None I can think of

Cons

HCTec is one of the worst companies. Management and recruiters don't care about employees. They don't fulfill their promise of placing you on an assignment, just leave you hanging with out a job or pay.

IMPROVEMENT NEEDED

Pros

Helping the hospitals and doctors was awesome. That is literally it.

Cons

Well where do I start? Training is inept and wasn't extensive to what the needs of the customers are nor the programs used. Managment and higher ups screw up the schedule constantly. Whine and complain when time off is needed. Mark you for death when you do have to take off for whatever the need is. This even includes PTO time. Most of the supervisors both in brentwood and hohenwald are horrid to their co-workers needs. They lack any form of leadership skills and honestly need to be replaced. I mean having cancer horrible. The ability to move up and be promoted is solely based on popularity, not hard work. Dedication to the company doesnt matter, if you are a kiss up or bend over for leadership, or join the clique, then and only then are you recognized. Their KB's are horrible leading you unable to help customers nor find answers most of the time. Yet they want your time down and expect you to know everything to help customers. Though you have no adequate resources to do it with. That kind of expectation is nearly moronic. The higher echelon (the ceo, cfo, coo, and upper leadership) have no freaking clue all of this takes place and are so ignorant to it that they don't realize how much success their company is missing out on because of the above issues. Benefits are expensive and do not cover jack. Cigna is their provider and the plan is the herpes of healthcare benefits. This company and especially the hohenwald and brentwood help desk has such potential for success but because of this cluster of leadership their hands are tied. I loved this job but had to leave. Their was no opportunity for career growth or educational growth what so ever. Unfortunately, many of my previous co-workers still stay and work in this same atmosphere. Sad. HCTec truly has the ability to be awesome but that awesomeness is hidden underneath incompetence.

Was great until the buyout

Pros

When it was Talon Healthy IT, it was a small and wonderful, employee-oriented company. Management was supportive, communicative, flexible, and willing to work with people. Rewards were frequent, as was praise and feedback. The environment was casual and relaxed. Under HCTec, there's still friendly and helpful co-workers, and some flexible scheduling options depending on location.

Cons

After the buyout, lots of middle management and corporate interference has turned the environment high-stress and added quite a bit of micromanaging. The company seems to be transitioning to putting more emphasis on maximizing call volume over quality of service for customers. Raises are infrequent and often employees are under paid for what they do. There are no work from home options post-COVID, and it turns out they do not accommodate illnesses or disabilities very well as a result.
